I think it's obvious that Daffers blames you for this situation because if you hadn't let them grow into their current pin-sharp form, you wouldn't *need* to clip them.

I've never worked in a newsroom either but I thought it would have been ridiculously provocative in the current climate for the BBC to have broadcast that part of the lecture. There are simpler ways to take a robust stance against Trump's attempts to censor broadcasters.

With zero moral judgement, I trust that Rutger Bregman will withdraw from his Reith Lecture series. I don't know what sorts of fees are involved but I assume he will return any which are not related to direct costs.

I have absolutely NO idea who this refers to. But for many years, I've made a habit of watching people in the background of TV broadcasts - it's a bit of an obsession. It can be very enjoyable!
