Lights are supposed to come down on Jan. 5, the proverbial 12th day of Xmas. This is the day before Epiphany, which is when the 3 Wise Men turned up.

The rule is:
When the Zoroastrians turn up,
The lights come down.

Getting ahead of things, but what is the appropriate gift for the 38th Day of Xmas?

Asking for a neighbour who still had their Xmas lights up on January 31 this year.

I follow a few American (and Canadian) guitar/amp techs on YouTube. Love the way they pronounce 'solder' as 'sodder'.

And I nearly fell off my perch the time I heard Stephen Colbert pronounce 'bitumen' as bi-TOO-min'.

Costello was as lousy as a demographer as he was as an economist. (He wasn't much chop as a lawyer, either.)

Makes a big whoop about the 'declining birth rate' - and yet - more babies keep being born each year. How can that be?

It's because of this crazy little thing called IMMIGRATION.

‪Costello was on The Business last night, regurgitating his 'one for the country' blah from 20+ years ago.

Might have to watch it again as I couldn't hear what he had to say, above my screaming at the TV.

Since the last time I looked at that page, about 4 years ago, someone who obviously isn't an Acka/Dacka fan has edited the caption for the first photo.

Have always wanted to visit this place, just so that when I returned I could say "I've been to Hell and back".

Apparently that was a Canadian chap demonstrating the wit and frivolity for which they are justly famous.

Germany's biggest bank, Deutsche Bank, has about the same market cap as ANZ, the smallest of Australia's Big 4.

(Bearing in mind that Germany's economy is nearly 3x the size of Australia's.)
