My first SF convention was Eastercon 1973...fifteen years congoing as a fan before joining publishing in January 1988, where my first job was running Orbit! It's been a ride...and continues to be!!!

Had great fun at the 2023 Eastercon there, which was the 50th anniversary of my first con, and 35 years since I'd started working in publishing!

And I realise that the fact I've lived on my own since 1990, 2 years after I started working in publishing, has made it MUCH easier to structure my days, without a family or live-in partner to consider...
