Scraping Through France
@johnjrose.bsky.social
On an old boat. Taking it slow Keen on good food. Half n half, France and Australia.
Good pointer, Matt. I can't resist noting, though, that the paper concludes immigration was responsible for 45% of the increase (60% of 75%), and so was a major factor, but not *the* cause.

Glad to see such happy smiles on men who tuck their shirts inside their underpants

It might be a good start for you to state what you define as "protestantism" because at this point it looks meaningless

What a fatuous piece of nonsense. Theology rather than praxis is absolutely central to the different strands of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. It's fine to try to find commonalities between religions, but you're just trying to flatten mountains.

Im sorry sorry, John. Baxter was a very good boy. I know how it feels.

You wish, ghoul

In several countries including Australia he would have been guilty of a crime.
Walliams has long demonstrated his poor judgement and impulse control.
Will he apologise?

Crumpled Toby *is* Toby!
December 20, 2025 at 10:09 AM
He doesn't look anything like Toby. Is there another reference I'm missing?
December 20, 2025 at 9:06 AM
What on earth do you mean, David?
December 20, 2025 at 9:04 AM
And even if it were true that one murder saved "a few lives", it seems a pretty inefficient means to achieve more general improvement.
December 20, 2025 at 7:26 AM
That's just a bald assertion in blind hope with zero evidence. You're embarrassing yourself.
December 20, 2025 at 7:24 AM
Look, I know I'm calling for a bit of effort here, but could you point to *any* evidence of the industry changing in *any* way as a result of the murder?
December 20, 2025 at 6:12 AM
And very nice they are so

7. Antithesis

Youre making a very big deal of a small remark. And you're starting to make it about you. I think we've spent enough time on this, my friend.

Not everyone is merely a spectator, Janni
December 17, 2025 at 11:18 PM
And I think my point was that it depends entirely on your point of view. If you were being murdered by a serial killer, would it console you to know that they had been killing fewer people just lately?
December 17, 2025 at 10:41 PM
I think you mean stainless steel. If they're solid steel, pretty soon they'll look more like plumbing than cutlery.

A few Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Afghanis and Yemenis might beg to differ

December 17, 2025 at 1:53 AM
Ah, but that's understandable, because Adam's grandpa was indirectly responsible, in a strange roundabout way, for the rise of Thatcher.
December 17, 2025 at 1:50 AM
It's not fair though when you can't spend every day actually *rebelling* against Mum and Dad
