Sadly it seems they’re more interested in putting space between themselves and the SNP, which seems to be driving Scottish Labour’s craven, opportunistic turn against trans rights that not long ago were considered a non-partisan issue where all mainstream parties were in agreement.

Imagine selecting a candidate based on who is popular and who inspires confidence in voters rather than on who’s turn it is and who high-ticket donors want to see a return in their investment for. What a concept!

That’s what primaries are supposed to be for, selecting a candidate that can actually win. I wouldn’t choose someone who a sizeable portion of your own base are loud about not wanting and who will leave you fighting the election on two fronts, but I’m not a Very Clever Consultant, what do I know?

They don’t know what they want other than “for it to not be over,” because any continuation past that ending would be a disaster.

EXACTLY! Like after that door closed, how cheap would it feel for it to swing back open again with “Hang on we’ve got another monster to fight!” And the “it was all a dream” solution I’ve seen some clinging to would be utterly terrible. I liked the finale, but like it or not, clearly it was THE END.
