Antiques and appraisals, vintage stuff, cycling, cats, rabbits. Moominologist. Formerly Cyclopunk, back in the blue bird days.
Extremely disappointed that this wasn't delivered in an ice cream van.

Sidney Sime, 1865-1941. Kind of like a cross between Tove Jansson and Aubrey Beardsley, but on really bad Polish bathtub acid,

Probably best in your case to leave it to the professionals, eh?

1941(ish) Beswick character jug - supposedly Churchill, but more like Martin Clunes.

Conker's Bad Fur Day, featuring drinking binges, smoking, graphic violence, adult themes and (a lot of) poo jokes.

The 4th rarest Nintendo 64 game, according to some.

Introduced my 22-year-assistant to Fighting Fantasy books today. He reckons they look as much fun as XBox games...I explained they really weren't 🤣

The Type 746.

So iconic that, even now, 58 years after it was introduced, it is What A Telephone Looks Like.

All models were named after their colour, incidentally, except for the brown one which was for some reason called The Yeoman.

If you have a Brooks bicycle saddle made in the same year as the case, it's probably just starting to feel broken in by noiw.

About as iconic as mid-century modern icons get...1975 Anglepoise Model 90 in mushroom grey.

Born in Glasgow on this day in 1923: the greatest poet Britain has produced, Ivor Cutler.

The Autocar, Sept. 14th 1923.

Just got a collection of a few hundred, some older than this one and the latest from the 1950s. Fascinating, especially the adverts!

Well, this one took me a while...it's a bit different to the sorts of antiques and vintage stuff I usually have in for appraisal.

I knew it's a carburettor, but what sort?

Turns out it was originally fitted to a 380ci V8 1962 Ford Thunderbird!

Pretty much everyone must have wondered what would happen if someone combined a mediocre pair of binoculars with an equally mediocre camera.

Well, friends, wonder no more - I present to you... the spectacularly craptacular Tasco 7800!

Love a bit of vintage Tri-Ang!

(The name, incidentally, was chosen because the company was founded by the three Lines brothers - and three lines makes a triangle.)

Just a reminder that Gwen John was a really bloody good painter.

Here's an interesting one... a 1946 door porter in the style of a Victorian door porter in the style of a rococo door porter.

So, a 20th Century repro of a 19th Century repro of an 18th Century original.

So, I basically spent the last week getting paid for building vintage Lego sets.

Tough job, but someone's got to do it.

And I made damn sure it was me. 😎
