I'm struggling to think of surveys of religion in Manchester. There are focussed histories, like the Jeremy Gregory volume on the collegiate church; Mark Smith on w-c Anglicanism in Oldham; and Patrick Joyce's Work, Society and Politics. Also some older studies of RCism in Salford...
