Measure for Measure
Categorised as a "comedy", but it doesn't read like it.
Hypocrisy, indecent proposals, executions - it's all here. I liked it; it deals with a central contemporary issue: authority which condemns the acts of others whilst committing its own, equal, sins. Reminds me of someone...

The Merry Wives of Windsor.
Well, this seems to have been written in a hurry, and the humour is very broad and frequently dependent upon a knowledge of archaic English words, matters and attitudes. Falstaff is purely a figure to be mocked. Seems a bit of an outlier so far!

Today, I finished reading "The Two Gentlemen of Verona". A very early Shakespeare play, possibly the earliest. An easy read (relatively), and it even made me smile.
Overall conclusion: Love Island vibes. Silly young men being silly.

Reading the RSC "Complete Works of Shakespeare". It's 2500 pages, as he was a busy boy. Lots of helpful footnotes to explain some of the more archaic words and phrases. I'm planning on 10 pages a day. First up is "The Tempest", which was his last play, confusingly enough.

Today's "Christmas" tunes on the car radio:
"2000 Miles" by the Pretenders
"Driving Home For Christmas" by Chris Rea

Not bad, really. Still no Jonah Lewie thank God.
