Seems to me that when billionaires start getting private briefings from public officials merely by virtue of the fact that they’re rich and powerful, that’s pretty much the definition of oligarchy. (See Elon Musk getting briefed by LAFD)

I had a guy message me to tell me that he was running late for a business meeting and ask if I would wait for him. I said sure no problem. I’m waiting… then he texts me that he’s changed his mind, not coming. Fine.

I don’t get the stupidity of right wingers complaining about reservoirs that aren’t full contributing to the conflagration. Those fires moved so fast and furious that no amount of stored water was going to make a difference. California fires burn hot no matter what party is in office.

Been reading a lot of misinformation about insurance and fire. One thing came up about how if you have a mortgage but don’t get insurance, the bank (or note holder) will get insurance on the property.

While TFG distracts us with stupid chatter of Greenland and Panama, he’s going to hand off Ukraine, with its massive oil and gas reserves, to Putin. Not sure how a foreign policy of attacking our friends and empowering our enemies is going to put America first, but here we go. #politics
