An April snow storm in Toronto. Clearly, someone jumped the gun and took off their winter tires and now we all have to suffer.

If WilmerHale wants access to the Nation's secrets, they should get it the same way as everyone else -- from Signal.

Afte Zelensky's visit to the White House, we need a new map.

Dreaming of summer after the biggest period of snowfall in Toronto in many years.

Haven't posted anything original in ages, so here are a couple of pictures from the past: A swallow darts over a marsh and a woman paddles through a reedy lake.

Haven't posted any pics in a while, so here goes: A zebra on the edge of a rise at the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, summer 2024.

A little distraction on this awful day: The cutest antelope you'll ever see. The dik-dik is no bigger than a medium-sized dog and lives on the Serengeti. I took this last August.

Seeing gorillas up close was one of the top experiences of our trip to Uganda and Tanzania last summer. Being on foot makes the experience so much more personal. Mostly, they ignored us, but they did give us the occasional glance, like this one.

Something a bit different today. I enjoy playing around with the AI app Midjourney and sometimes the results can be pretty impressive. Here is a tiger creeping through the jungle in the moonlight.

A little reminder of spring on a grey winter's day. Shot last April in the Toronto area.

The Little Egret I posted yesterday (from an outing late last summer) was being very cooperative. Here's the same bird flying downstream as a kayaker makes his way upstream.

One of the ugliest birds around is the Marabou Stork. They'll eat just about anything and you'll often find then foraging in garbage dumps. I shot this one on the shore of Lake Victoria in Uganda last summer, where it was looking for scraps from the nearby fish vendors.

A Little Egret makes a splash while searching for food in Toronto's Humber River late last summer.

Toronto waterways were long an unfriendly place for fish but in 2006, a full-scale Atlantic Salmon restoration project began. Now, every fall, people line the banks of the Humber River to watch fish like this one battle upstream to spawn.

More shots from the past year or so. The Don River flows through the middle of Toronto. Most of it is surrounded by parks and wild spaces and a major project is beautifully transforming the mouth of the river. But this section just north Lake Ontario retains the grim feel of its industrial past.

The bird life is amazing in Tanzania, where we went on safari last summer. One of the more colourful birds is the Little Bee-eater. And yes, they actually do eat bees.

Day 2 of a few of my fav pics from the last year or so. We were lucky enough to spend a few weeks last summer in Uganda and Tanzania. There were many wonders, but among the top experiences was seeing the gorillas. Here's one of the head silverback in a contemplative mood.

Time I contributed something to this enjoyable platform. I'll be putting up a few favourite photos I took over the last year or so. First up, a Red-necked Grebe carrying nesting materials. I shot this from the shore of Lake Ontario in Toronto early last summer.

Proud to say that is in Canada. Just as Donald Trump!

I've been playing with Midjourney for a while now and while it can be difficult to control if you're looking for something very specific, once in a while it makes something really special. I hope I have the opportunity to take a photo like this in real life some day.

Look, I understand Twizzlers wanting to try out new flavours once in a while, but this is taking things way too far!
