I never think of texting! I'm still living in the age of cuneiform. One of these Monday's drop by to chat again, or maybe we can get a coffee somewhere.

Take extra care, and heal soon. Btw, our power was out last night, so we wound up at K Ranch for dinner at around 7 pm. We looked around for you, but didn't see you.

That sucks. Are you able to get out and about? I hope so.

I didn't, but love seeing it now. Cute bird, and interesting combo.

These are dark times indeed for International and Foreign Language studies in the U.S.--not just because of Trumpolini's push for Anglo-Germanic Christian Nationalism, but also because of A.I., continued budget cuts, emphasis on STEM, etc. Bleh.

This could affect the yearly Latin American Film Festival, for example. It also affects FLAS grants, which have helped to fund undergrad and grad students studying less commonly studied languages and cultures such as Quechua, Nahuatl, Portuguese.

It affects me indirectly, but not in a huge way.... Unfortunately, it will mostly affect students. UWM's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies didn't get its federal funding renewed because of this, so there will be fewer lectures and less cultural programming on campus.
