Basketball is my favourite sport, I love the way they post up and down the feed

It's great; the brunch story is an instant classic

As a person who biked downtown and shopped at three separate businesses today, I gotta say, you're silly to suggest such a thing (sarcasm)

It's sort of wild how these opinion seem to ignore the impact of COVID and the influx of remote work.

You know what @iankarmel.bsky.social and other jazzbos say: "it's not the points you score, it's the points you don't score"

Climate change: not real
COVID: not real
Every deplorable opinion he's shared: real
Been bounced as leader: not real

I sense a theme and a failure to accept reality

I feel the same way for Devon White in the early 90s for the jays; as a kid I kinda thought he wasn't great cause every single play looked like he was shagging batting practice

Just kidding - but maybe smaller?

Hear me out; take their gloves away

I'm being ironic; I don't really think the dodgers were really ruining baseball - every team has the ability to sign players
December 3, 2025 at 4:59 AM
If you consider his AAV is only 26.5 and he's only signed to this age 36 season it's not as crazy; like obviously 5 years would be better but 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure taxes impact decisions but New York State and California have huge tax rates too and the biggest contracts in the league have landed in those dates. For leagues with salary caps you see player opting for the lowest tax states but I don't really think it's as impactful as people suggest

But the reality is that there is lots of teams that need starting pitchers and this puts more pressure on them - I can't imagine Framber, Imai or Ranger sign for less than Cease unless they only want to play for a specific team
November 30, 2025 at 6:14 AM
It's also worth noting Cease is the only big starting pitcher under 30 - I'm not sure it would raised the ceiling but it raises the floor. It's not reasonable to expect them to get back to the World Series but with Cease the should be a playoff team (if they keep Bo or add Tucker/Bellinger)

Nick Castellanos, Josh Donaldson, Marcell Ozuna, Anthony Rendon all signed in the same offseason at similar rates and Springer is a huge bargain compared to those...
November 30, 2025 at 6:08 AM
It's easy to say there is a premium that the blue jays have to pay to sign players, it's sort of impossible to prove that. It's not like Fried, Soto, Ohtani, Yamamoto, or whoever were cheap... look back at 2020 off season. George Springer signed for and compare it to the other guys...
November 30, 2025 at 6:04 AM
The tax rule is sort of stupid imo; you don't pay taxes for where the actual games you play. Tax rates in states like California are comparable to Canadas. Obviously it might be a bit more complicated for accountants but I doubt that really impacts a players decisions for where to play...
