Florida day 10 - it was an overcast and rainy day. In the morning, I drove up through Miami and then down to Key Biscayne. I spent most of the day at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park just relaxing.

Florida day 9 - I got an early start and drove down to Key Largo for a morning walk at the Dagny Johnson Botanical Park. I also visited the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park while on Key Largo. I then decided to head back north to the Everglades NP.

Florida day 8 - Today I drove over to the Biscayne NP visitor center and took the Heritage Boat Tour, a 3.5 hour tour detailing the history of the park. Biscayne NP is 95% water, so by boat is the only way to explore. The tour included a stop at Boca Chita Key.

I'm really enjoying Bluesky so far! My only gripe is I wish it allowed a few more characters per post and a short period to edit. Love all of the kind people and amazing photos though!

Florida day 7 - A perfect day. I explored the Southern Everglades and got some good hiking in along a few of the trails. I saw many variety of birds, including multiple with fish they caught.

I was startled by this otter as it climbed out of the water right in front of me today. It seemed as surprised to see me as I was it and quickly darted across the pathway. Mid run it decided to do a full body shake and roll in the grass before jumping back into the water. So cool!

Day 2 in Florida was another wonderful day of nature, birding and photography. Spent the morning at Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge and the afternoon at Peaceful Waters Sanctuary. Both had beautiful, well maintained trails and boardwalks.
