The sequel trilogy should have been about trying to actually govern and defend the galaxy and rebuild the Jedi Order without falling to the mistakes and temptations to take shortcuts as in the past. About being different than Palpatine even though it's harder.

I plan to. I was going to watch all three eps Thursday but I didn't get to it.

I haven't gotten past the first couple of scenes. I think part of is that there a lot of people online saying I have to like and another group telling me I have to hate it. I might need to wait for the noise to die down and give it another shot then. Prodigy was YA. I'm middle-aged. It rocked.

He wants the transporters, warp drive and phasers but none of the rest of it. Essentially Elon Musk wants the Terran Empire from the Mirror Universe.

Funniest thing to me is that I liked Wil Wheaton much more as asshole scientist Isaac Parrish on Eureka than I did as Wesley Crusher.

If it's still available you should seek out Warren Ellis's Freakangels, which is basically "What if the Michwich Cuckoos were disaffected twentysomethings?" It's really good.

Spoiler alert, the book has nothing to do with sandwiches.

The prequels are kind of dull and dry and then 4 starts up ad Yippie, space is fun again!

I want this and the It's Alive series to come back again. MAGA. Make Abortion Great Again.

Gay dudes are getting their own longform version of Red Shoe Diaries. But... Red Shoe Diaries was never all that good.

Pretty sure that's true. Here's one. ICE is actually a front for illegal Demarkians. Real Americans need to citizen arrest them - especially the white ones.

A year later he was in a movie with Donald Pleasence called "The Mutations."

Not just classic literature. I've read a good bit of Lovecraft yet never had a real chance to drop "squamous" into a conversation.

Public school. Probably circa winter/spring of 1983. And it was from a VCR in the library, I think. We still had the student handbook that told us where the Student Smoking area was. That's where the 14 year olds could smoke. I was not one of those 14 year olds.

They might be, but she's currently only credited with actually writing episode 5.
January 20, 2026 at 5:48 PM
Yeah. I remember my 14 year old self developing a weird crush on Olivia Hussey at the time of filming 15 year old self when my 9th grade English teacher showed our class the 1968 Romeo and Juliet. Which included the nude scene.

Hopefully it's nothing like acid reflux.
January 19, 2026 at 4:14 PM
Haven't seen it yet, but I've got three days off coming up so I'll be able to see the first two episode and then the third one coming Thursday, so that'll be cool.

For that matter, where's Pike? Pike was awesome because he cooks. Literally cooks actual food.

It was a disaster that occurred which killed all warp travel for a long time. It was mentioned in ST: Discovery. Do NOT go looking for actual details because it'll make Starfleet Academy seem retroactively stupid.

I find your lack of Carol Freeman disturbing.

1 I quite liked Skyrim. It's highly customizable but also skippable.

2 Anything unskippable. No, game, I really don't want to customize the length and color of my character's pubic hair. I just want to start killing orcs now.
