I missed Rosindell, who just grits his teeth and freezes.

Any apology worth the name should admit guilt, promise not to do it again, and ask for forgiveness. This comes nowhere near.

Farage looked angry at first, but a second or two later, grins and sort of laughs. Tice enacts a laugh, but is a bad actor. Rosindell freezes. Pochin's is the only honest reaction. If the cap fits ....

The thing about the framers of the Constitution is that they knew that none of them was a saint, and some of them were a sight worse. That's why they had all the safety mechanisms - they didn't trust one another.

But the US Constitution doesn't need an update, but a root & branch rewrite.

It took more than two centuries to subvert the Constitution, which was designed specifically to stop this happening. The whole point was that even if an unsuitable president got in, there were enough 'checks and balances' to stop him doing much damage. There aren't - it needs an update.

He's talking about genetic evidence that /will/ come through. He's expecting nature to accept the validity of his opinions.

It doesn't say that, at least on the usual reading. It means any officer shall be removed on impeachment and conviction - not the entire government at once. But remarkably ambiguous for that document. Otherwise, the whole lot would be removed if any civic officer were impeached and convicted

The 2nd Amendment gives everyone the right to bear arms in their own defence, but doesn't say "... but we might shoot you". He had a gun, lawfully, and it was in its holster.

There are about 0.75 million 18 year olds, and the birth rate is pretty steady. There are 11m aged 65 or more.

But compare Freshwater's poll the other day, which had them on 33%. Never trust a single poll. The Wikipedia average is running at about 29% at the moment. I hope YouGov are right.

It's a pity they were planted too close, and had to fight it out.

The trouble with the Lords is that - short of abolition - the only remedy for the opposition blocking legislation is to ennoble people on your own side. Which makes the problem worse.

The Reform line is a bit rich - Reform and Plaid are level in the polls, at around 29%. No party with the support of < 1/3 of the vote, without a great lead over their opponents, has any right to form a government. No party can form a government anyway, unless it can command a majority.
December 31, 2025 at 1:14 PM
There's no doubt that Reform have lost ground since October - Wikipedia's trend line, based on /all/ polls, had them on 31% then, only 28% now. The Conservatives have mirrored that, presumably taking support from R. But Labour and LD are still dropping. But the Greens have risen 6%!!!

Passed 96 a while ago - set to hit the target at about 4pm at the current rate - 806 in the last hour. I'd estimated it would get there this morning, but pm will do.

Launch one!
November 28, 2025 at 10:16 AM
Just passed 81k. It should reach 100k on Saturday morning at the current rate.
November 28, 2025 at 10:16 AM
At the present rate - 600/hr over a 24 hr window, it would cross the line at 7am Saturday morning if signatures came in uniformly - probably later as things will be slow overnight. Maybe run a sweep on when it gets there?
November 27, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Many thanks for starting this ball rolling! I signed, encouraged my friends to sign (and encouraged them to get their friends to sign ...). I also wrote to my MP. He sounds as though he's decent and honest - not all are - so if there's a debate, I'd want him to speak at it.
November 26, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Averaging >1300/hour over the last 36 minutes!!!
November 26, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Suddenly got much much faster. 800 was based on the time taken getting to 66k from 65k. Some must have been waiting till they'd had their tea before signing.
November 26, 2025 at 9:31 PM
Averaging 800 an hour at the moment, 600/hour during the afternoon. It's the fastest I've seen for a long time. We should run a sweep on what time hits 100k. I'd guessed Saturday morning, but that's starting to look conservative.

He's too careful that way. But he's on the back foot - he's half- admitted the allegations of his racist behaviour at school - admitting he facts, but denying any racist motive or intent to hurt people. He also, oddly, denied being a member of any extremist party, which hasn't been alleged.
November 24, 2025 at 10:01 PM
Indeed, but this settles any doubt.
