I noticed too. You'd think a guy who himself got shot might exhibit compassion & empathy, but I guess not. (There's a long Republican history of not caring about an issue until one is personally impacted, but apparently it doesn't always hold).

I guess he has his priorites. 🙄

Wild that smartest/richest guy Steve Ballmer's defense of his involvement with Aspiration is "They conned me". Which is to say it's better to say you were conned than to admit you were part of a scheme, one creepily similar to one Leonard & his people (apparently) also tried pulling in Toronto.

Chachi's gotta like his chances too, right?

One memorable ride to Port Costa was to see 6'-5" rockabilly showman & former PC mayor, Mitch Polzak at the Warehouse Cafe, a biker bar in an 1889 concrete warehouse. Mitch also a regular at SF's Saloon, Crockett's Toots Tavern, and Alameda's Speisekammer. Carry on to Concord BART for return trip.

Peter, like you & David, I like exploring by bike. You can indeed ride a (sorta) flat path to Crockett along the bay; I've done it a few times, SF-GG Bridge-Richmond Bridge-Port Richmond and NE along the Bay Trail, passing multiple historic sites, interesting spots, & great views.

I love the story of Willie "Woo Woo" Wong Playground. ...Named after the legendary basketball player who grew up playing there before starring at USF under Pete Newell, another legend who led Cal to the 1959 NCAA championship. "Woo Woo" is the sound Willie's excited fans made, watching him play.

I used to regularly go to City Hall to pay property taxes in person. You'd always catch 3, 4 or more weddings going on.

Hopefully you'll find the Harvey Milk Rec Center open next time you go; restrooms are both upstairs and downstairs there. (Thrilled to see your photo essay on the trail; I'm one of the founders and helped lead Peter H and crew on the DC last September.)

It’s been a long time since I’ve watched “Midnight Caller”…what about “Streets of San Francisco” though; it was on the streets each week! “About A Boy” was fun, but not really filmed in SF. “Nash Bridges” cool if you can tolerate Don Johnson.

Yeah, where is Congress on this and a million other things...

Nancy Pelosi is my Representative & has always gotten my vote; her political judgement is routinely spot on. Yet she got it wrong here. The times we are in called for someone in the oversight role with AOC's appeal, energy & media savvy, not a reward to a decent & dying man for his long service.

Weird that so many presumably smart people, like those at the law firms, don’t get this. Trump is a mob boss, eager to exploit you. Preet Bharara knew this, smartly wouldn’t even take Trump’s phone call, knew doing so would be capitulating.

Maybe he and Harris would have been a better choice than the orange guy and his eye liner wearing sycophant. 😟

Thinking of your interview f the other day w Mike Dunleavy. He comes across as very smart, knowing enough not to make add'l mistakes, trying to cover prev mistakes. Part of it is organizational strength too, which he referenced - GSWs all have each others' backs, w Steph & Dray strong influences.

Maybe someone needs to tell her the US Atty General represents the US, not the president.

Can an observant nonpartisan trust anything Trump says?

After about 5 minutes they forgot Jan 6 was insane. Perfectly fine with letting the coup leader off then putting him back in charge.

Evidence of the othering from Trump goes back to 1973 when he & his father were sued for housing discrimination, to calling for the death penalty in the 80's/90's for the Central Park 5 even after exoneration, to Mexicans as "criminals and rapists" to sh1thole countries, the racist birtherism...

The anger, fanaticism and bigotry is out of control. Has gotten much worse in recent weeks. More and more, I see posts from sane people I follow to follow them over here, that they rarely post over there any more.
