This weekend we remembered "Jack" Sheridan. Lost 84 years ago aged 25. Last minute replacement rear gunner in a Beaufort. He did not even know the crew. He was the only casualty. Bottom left in this family photo. Buried at La Forest-Landerneau, Brittany @cwgc.bsky.social

@emmapearson.bsky.social My personal French phrase of the week "Courir Devant" lit to run ahead, but figuratively to take something outrageous/ridiculous that someone has said at face value & rush off as though it were true or meant. Seems rather apposite in the current international climate
