And I’m speaking as the parent of an autistic teenager who had meltdowns regularly. I knew how to avoid him getting into such a state that he responded physically. He went to a special needs school and they were excellent, very very rarely did any child have a violent outburst.

It should never get to the point where the child responds with violence. If they are teaching special needs kids then they should have the training to be able to see it heading that way. They should know these kids and what it takes to calm them down, distract them and therefore avoid violence.

They’re not violent children, they’re having a meltdown and the supposed adult behaviour is exacerbating that. If they are teaching at such a school they should have the skills to de-escalate the situation. They obviously do not or just don’t care about the kids. Latter more likely.
