I agree, and perhaps could have used better phrasing. I was speaking to the many comments I've seen dismissing the film/novel because it's not historically accurate when it wasn't intended to be. Haven't seen the film yet, but the novel was beautiful.

She was referred to as Agnes in some historical records, including her father's will. But the novel is not intended to be an historical account of their lives, but rather an imagining of what may have occurred inspired by what little is known.
