His own suffering is nothing compared to that of a passed on generational mission to save the planet.

He wants to save Caelus, but what’s that to saving a dying world?

What’s his grief over a loved one to holding the grief of billions of existences?

It won’t be the first time he’s waited alone for his life to become brighter. He is glad that it is him waiting centuries and not Caelus; suffering enough from fate.

Now Caelus has an even larger weight on his shoulders and all he can do is try to relieve that.

Dan Heng would wait forever if he had to and would do anything just to lessen the suffering he has experienced.

Dan Heng would endure his own isolation in this as it’s the least to worry about when his beloved is suffering so much more.

Now, having to wait for days, weeks, months, years, CENTURIES even of waiting — enough to have the most cherished memories grow distant and foggy — he thinks himself more fortunate than Caelus.

He must be worried about him after all of this. About everyone on the express.

Dan Heng agonized over whether or not they could find the death titan, whether it would work and if he could find any other way should it all go wrong, losing days of sleep after the truth comes out.

But he wasn’t the one who was hanging on by a thread. Whose life was in danger.

Neck twisted just a little bit too much for human comfortability. All of that something he had to witness, live with, PRAY that it didn’t happen until it was proven true.

Caelus was the one who had died there, not him. He didn’t actually suffer that fate, just watched it.

absolutely and it would be so funny him hiding behind sqq or running to mbj like the scared hamster he is yelling “CONTROL YOUR HAREM DAMN IT!!!” and sqq has to just calm whoever did it this time (it’s mostly binghe)

The only sense of solace he had after was a surviving child of the Wens that he would love and take in like his own son.
If only Sizhui could have a little sibling, but him being alive is a blessing enough to keep him going.
