I know it's mad, but I do somehow feel sorry for him. Such a failure as a human being

Something that still warms my heart is that when Farage had a go at them in 2021 they got 30 times their usual donations in one day

That sounds like someone in a police interview saying "No comment"

Absolutely, I was just pointing out that there are rules about a recall petition, and really it's a good thing. They can always be changed, if enough MPs can be convinced to vote in favour
January 19, 2026 at 12:51 PM
I suppose that didn't count as a suspension?

Instant mute

I suppose that depends on what your job is. But to trigger a recall you have to be suspended from the House for 10 or 14 days, depending on whether it is sitting (the reason Bunter resigned) or be convicted of expenses fraud or another crime with a custodial sentence

If I remember correctly, they asked any audience member who was there because Nicholas Winton had saved their parents or ther grandparents to stand up. Most of the audience stood up

Yes! I'm sure my copy must still be around here somewhere. I believe it was so popular the Stephen Pile was thrown out of the Not Terribly Good Club of Great Britain

I have a nasty suspicion that some will think invading a foreign country to steal its oil is making America great again

0.3% of people may well be incredibly stupid. It just seems so sad that they would have taken the trouble to go to the polling station and then messed it up
January 2, 2026 at 2:01 PM
Presumably unintentionally?

I don't think I've ever been in a bar that could hold 400 people. In any case one narrow staircase as an emergency exit was obviously inadequate
