I’m not convinced the screen material is as resistant to wear than a solid glass sheet, so I’m not rushing to buy one. But in theory, it’d be nice.

To be fair, Apple’s own apps advertise only their own stuff within their own apps. This can of course change, so pre-emptive action is fine, but this is the lets-make-it-shittier-for-users way.

It makes more sense than opening up to a square, and is less fiddly than the tri-folds. As for why; larger 16:9 video views, side-by-side multitasking, faux laptop configuration with keyboard on one screen…what else would this be fun/useful for?

GPS (and the associated Galileo and Glonass) is only a receiver, so just having it on doesn't help in tracking anyone down. Nothing is sent. The OS or an app would have to collect the data and be accessible to the authorities.

While I’ve set chatGPT to ”professional”, I find having a little personality helps me treat it like someone with flaws. That friend who ”read a study once”. Sounding all efficient would lull me into trusting it.
