Big Tech is getting more and more involved in politics. During the last US election, Crypto bros spent more than $100 million on the election, which got some of them out of jail. Now Big Tech is active again, this time with focus on AI, as reported in this Washington Post article.

It is time to […]

Thrilled to have @Gargron with us. I am a big fan of Mastodon and so are all of us at @Vivaldi.
I've finally switched to the @Vivaldi browser. I've been using Firefox for as long as I've been on the internet, but the focus on AI means it's no longer the browser for me. Thankfully unlike Chrome, Vivaldi supports the uBlock Origin extension which is the most important extension for being […]

- Work spaces and tab stacks
- Tab tiling
- Mouse gestures
- Customizable keyboard shortcuts
- Tracker and ad blocker
- Panels and Web panels
- Cross platform, encrypted sync […]

This is an example of how far the surveillance capitalism has gone. IMHO there is no logic to your TV monitoring what you are watching. It is time for some serious legislation when it comes to […]

You understand that Big Tech is getting too powerful when they try to undermine governments that regulate them.

Elon Musk has been pushing for countries to leave the EU due to regulation and associated fines. Meta has been behaving in a similar way.

Are you not happy that you are here?

Why is Big Tech so afraid of AI regulation?

Big Tech continues to push for no AI regulation and it is having an impact. They want us to forget the damage done by the lack of regulation of user profiling. Instead they argue that regulating user profiling and AI would be a disaster. Clearly they […]

Elkjøp, likely the largest Norwegian based electronics store, is now running ads for Copilot where they speak about how great Recall is. Likely the ad is paid for by Microsoft.

They show the picture below and they talk of how great it is that the machine […]

It seems like most every other browser is all in on AI. We have chosen a different path at @Vivaldi

If you would prefer AI not to be integrated into your browser, but still like a feature rich browser, I welcome you to try Vivaldi.

Norway is rather unique when it comes to sales of EVs. Last month the % of EVs was 97.6%. This is something to be proud of. Sadly Tesla is 31.2%, which is rather embarrassing.

There is a lot of good choices when it comes to EVs. Make the right choice.

New @Vivaldi on Android as arrived!

This one has a much requested feature: custom search engines. This is something we have had on desktop, but it has finally arrived on mobile as well.

What is unique here is that you can take most any search and just long click in the search field and add it […]

If you wanted another reason to dislike crypto currencies and AI, here you go. Not only do we have to deal with more scams, more slop, less privacy and a warmer planet, but we also have to pay for it through our electrical bills.

Of course this is obvious. More demand for power means higher […]

At @Vivaldi we tend to take a stand when it comes to technologies that are in use in our industry.

We have been clear from the start that we believe crypto currencies have no place in this world. Nothing that has happened during these last few years has changed our minds. Rather the opposite […]

I just rented a car a couple of days ago. The car I got is a Toyota BZ4X. As I drove from the airport with a couple of friends, the car started beeping at times. It was complaining whenever I exceeded the speed limit by 3 km/h or if I held the steering wheel in such a way that it could not see […]
