I love that there was one week in UK chart history where Destiny’s Child were outsold by the theme tune to ITV’s World Cup coverage #totp

They were using that cat sound effect on Live and Kicking twenty years later…

First two, yes - not sure how I managed that. Third has literally just been replaced and I only have a photo as had to hand it back in

As the song goes, it was twenty years ago today…

A love letter to the past - full kudos to ITV Creative for this beauty.

(Can neither confirm nor deny there’ll be some full outings later)

Hard to remember a time when that kind of shiny chrome effect looked “good”

Also I remember once something clearly had gone very wrong on the ITV News Channel and the really long version went out about 5 times in a row

Loved this, particularly as they had to cut out the line “I don’t need no TV, I don’t need no news”

20 YEARS AGO TODAY, also 50 years before then, so really 70 YEARS AGO TODAY onwards.

Happy birthday ITV. Been scheduling it for nearly 20 of the 70 and today was a lot of fun for reasons that will hopefully become apparent!

Been waiting since 1976 for this #totp

Looks like they’ve got the memo about the presenter never appearing to be in the same place as the acts though. They also superimposed Zoe Ball on top of one of the pre-records and even did a fake pan via a pillar at one point #totp

I will admit I quite liked Bus Stop’s Kung Fu Fighting at the time. It’s fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously, unlike a lot of the acts on the show #totp

#OnThisDay 1985: 40 years ago today, the block of childrens programmes on BBC1 was branded as Children's BBC and for the first time, dedicated idents & an in-vision presenter was used in a place affectionately known to us as the Broom Cupboard.
Children's BBC title An empty CBBC Broom Cupboard that we also know as the BBC1 continutiy booth.

I like playing the game with the news section is seeing how much of it could have been written during the week, as opposed to referencing something that actually happened yesterday…

It’s prob exactly that book, ha!

The arrival of this logo means I’m officially a grumpy teenager and things aren’t as good as they used to be #totp

I liked how you could see the All Saints stage pushed to the side during the Mavericks, like the gym horse box in the school hall

Also love how Byker represented kids TV getting a bit grittier but here it’s a contrast with the old Beeb having a jolly tea party with silly games
