Nah. Only applies to people with a right to be in the country.

Depends on the state.

It's always been left-coded.

"School shootings":

"A man shot and killed his wife in the parking lot of Smyrna Middle School after an argument prior to their picking up their child for a doctor's appointment."

That's terrible, of course, but it isn't remotely what people mean when they talk about mass school shootings.

The question is why she hasn't been deported yet.
February 11, 2026 at 8:50 PM
She had overstayed her visa.
February 11, 2026 at 8:44 PM
Because that's not true? You have to write in your DL # or last 4 of your SSN, but no ID required.
February 11, 2026 at 8:20 PM
It was a wacky MI law. Repealed in 2018.
February 11, 2026 at 3:05 PM
That used to be MI law - the law said you had to cough up $100 cash on the spot (to make sure you pay the ticket or show up to contest it), and if you didn't have cash they'd take your license.

It was repealed in 2018.
February 11, 2026 at 3:04 PM
The cash is basically a insta-bond to make sure you pay the ticket or show up in court to contest it.

And if you don't have cash, they take your license as security.
February 11, 2026 at 3:01 PM
It's just the law in some places. It's the voters, not the cops, that suck.
February 11, 2026 at 3:00 PM
Happened to me in MI a few decades ago.

Looks like an incitement case based on the news. As one of the "free speech crowd" you mention, I'll note that his speech (as reported, at least) gets pretty close to the line of illegal incitement but still doesn't cross it. Seems like a bad arrest.

Use whatever language you want, and let others use their language, fascist weirdo.
February 11, 2026 at 12:54 PM
Wasn't it confirmed with the shooter's uncle?
February 11, 2026 at 12:53 PM
So people are also upset he doesn't buy a cartoonish, child's version of history?
February 11, 2026 at 12:17 PM
Most of them on the list are like that. Actual mass school shootings are rare.
February 11, 2026 at 10:14 AM
" A stray bullet fired during a street altercation struck a 9-year-old student at McAuliffe Elementary School"

That's not what people think of when they hear "school shooting. "

Not after the order of deportation is issued. And it takes time to arrange travel, get authorization, etc.

On top of that, the space will be used for people subject to mandatory detention in expedited removal. Plenty of need for capacity if things ramp up to how they were under Biden.
February 11, 2026 at 3:35 AM
Those were mostly at the border, which is faster and easier. Trump has more interior deportations.
February 11, 2026 at 1:31 AM
Of course they need to hold people pending deportation. Deportation isn't instantaneous.
February 11, 2026 at 1:30 AM
That's fucking dumb.
February 10, 2026 at 10:36 PM
That's not even a slur. The American Indian Movement would be surprised to hear it called that.
February 10, 2026 at 10:36 PM
You could make a ton of money if you know the "real world" probabilities better than the aggregated guesses of large numbers of people.
