A potent reminder that any rumours about the demise of typology-influenced theories of function are exaggerated.

This is how Apple is promoting ChatGPT in the App Store (where it gets a disproportionate amount of publicity).

Making an essay plan. Brainstorming and organising thoughts. Digesting and retaining information.

All key skills that we *learn by doing* as part of *education*.

It’s so perfect that Will Stancil rebuked all the AI sceptics who fail to recognise this magical technology on the same day we discovered we had lived through the presidency of whoever this is

In the UK, one of the preeminent mainstream cultural objects for men was the 'lad mag'. There's a days work analysing what's represented in just these 4 covers.

This woman (Lionel Shriver) is so tiresome and dreary. The 'British culture' she has in mind (aka white culture) is Nigel Slater's suppers and the Oasis reunion. Wise up!

Really sick of these 'moral case' arguments. Or rather, statements, as no substantive arguments are offered.

The 'moral case' is ill-defined. It seems to go something like 'people aren't working, and we have a duty to support them (back into work)'.

Yeah this is just make whatever spurious connections you can find and talk it up. It has all the usual Trump qualities: no basis in facts, but feels right if you already bought into the project.

Someone on the other place one posted an image like this one, and said 'I'll be chasing this feeling for the rest of my life'. Every so often I remember that and feel its truth, viscerally. The mix of feelings after each episode—confusion, frustration, joy, impatience, wonder.

RIP to one of the realest ever to do it. Feeling gutted right now.
