Thank you. I just finished The Buffalo Hunter Hunter because of this list, and (gosh) do I want more.

A Bright Ray of Darkness by Ethan Hawk - Maybe you will like it for the actor's story.
The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge - My 8th class loved this.
The Fox Wife by Yangtze Choo
