It makes me think, that beauty and order couldn't come from a random explosion!

Hi Misty, I have found our conversation interesting; however, I feel it is time for me to stop participating in it. Thank you for a polite and respectful discussion. I wish you all the best.

That tells me that what Luke records in Acts, that Paul was visited by the resurrected Jesus, was true. And the early Christians also treated Paul's New Testament writings as
authoritative, as scripture. It shows that a real change of character took place. There must have been a catalyst for that.

I should listen to what Paul said in the New Testament, because the early Christians did, including Peter, a disciple of Jesus who called Paul's writings scripture. The Christians had been persecuted/jailed by Paul, then a couple years later, they were trusting him to teach and rebuke them.

To play devil's advocate, why should we care if people get harmed or not? Who says it is a morally good thing to treat other people kindly? I think slavery is evil and that we should treat women and men as equally valuable, since God made them in his image.

Since every person sins against God and his moral laws, every one deserves Hell, inlcuding me. It is a miracle that anyone can be saved from Hell. But God in his kindness sent Jesus (who willingly died). This made it possible for people who once rejected their creator, to be his friend again.

I see we have very different perspectives :) Since God created the world, he is the rightful king of the world and it's inhabitants. He made it and rightfully desires worship. So God says what is right and wrong. He can help people believe if they try to find out if he is real.

I believe that there are many sins that people have done. Gay sex and gay marriage are sins in God's eyes, but so is lying, hetero premarital sex, stealing, gossiping, adultery, dishonouring parents, and more. So I need to look at my own heart and actions and turn to God. Just like every person.

I suppose some of these comments are overlapping :) When Jesus came back to life, it demonstrated that he was actually who he claimed to be. And earlier during his time teaching in Israel, he affirmed the authority of the Old Testament. Someone coming back to life is a powerful thing.

Many educated and intelligent people believe that the resurrection of Jesus is historical fact. Can I ask what barriers you have to believing it? 🙂

The Bible was written by people in a time and place, and inspired by God. I wouldn't expect the human writers 3,400 years ago to have the same scientific knowledge we have in 2025. Should God have given Moses the knowledge of 21st Century science before the natural unfolding discovery of it?

Due to the poetic structure of Genesis chapter 1, and the apparent conflict between the young earth timeline and the evolution timeline.

There are scholars who have studied this more than I have, so I think it's best I share something like this with you. I know it's an hour long but even listening to 5 minutes would give you a picture/taste of the research involved. :)

I'm sorry for the delays. I'll try to keep up. :)

I understand some people have issues with some of God's actions.
What do you mean when you use the word 'good'? Where do you get your moral standard from?

Sorry about any offence or confusion. I was explaining that Jesus said, our sins are not just external actions (like murder or adultery), but internal attitudes of the heart (like hatred and lust). These are two examples he gives in the sermon on the mount. We should love God, not reject him.

The Bible puts it this way: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans)

Putting someone in jail is a punishment for their crime. Hell is the punishment for our rebellion against God. Jesus took the punishment we deserved, when he willingly died on the cross. Therefore when somebody devotes their life to Jesus, their punishment has already been done. & they live forever.
