I dislike endnotes in general. I can ignore footnotes if I want. The constant flipping back and forth to consult endnotes makes it hard for me to concentrate.

Between the dread of the Diss Question and the fact that many grad students don’t get much funding for conference travel and after flight/hotel there’s not much left.

I had senior scholars foot meal bills and it meant a lot. I try my best to pay it forward when I can.

Not for first-timers as much, but it's also a good time to remind people that it's not pronounced "How's your dissertation coming." It's pronounced "Can I get you a coffee/lunch?"

It's okay to walk out of a bad session. If the session isn't what you hoped it would be (or worse, if it's actively making your skin crawl), you can leave.

It has the added bonus of keeping them from getting all bent/crumpled in transit (and they could double as bookmarks during travel). 😄

I always tuck mine in a book or notebook that I plan to bring. Less likely to forget that way. (I also often print two and stash them in different places so I’m more likely to bring at least one of them. 😂)
