She’s got half a good point here - the current atmosphere around immigration, asylum and integration is in the mud, but she can’t possibly think their current approach and rhetoric makes this sort of abuse LESS likely?!

And on immigration & asylum they have totally failed to communicate reality, instead determining to go down a route of performative cruelty which ultimately achieves nothing. Reform voters that might be impressed will never vote for Starmer, and others that might are rightly appalled. Total failure

They had an opportunity to better communicate and ultimately implement what they needed to on tax for ages, and they’ve totally failed, and by all accounts the budget will now fail in delivery (people will hate it) and execution (it won’t make anything better)

100% - it’s nonsensical that illegal immigration is anything beyond a minor contributor to our problems. Yet how the debate is had and the brain & airwave space it takes up is ridiculous and ultimately incredibly toxic

It sounds frivolous, but honestly, you only need to watch an entertainment show like Long Lost Family to see a snippet of how bad aspects of life were 50+ years ago. People acting & being treated terribly, emotionally stunted, just awful. Nostalgia is like a form of mental illness, totally deluded
