I couldn't say no to a Blu-ray copy of Battlestar Galactica Blood & Chrome, it was only two pounds and the Region 1 DVD I watched in the week had a pretty rough picture. This will be better.

A publisher would not only have a decent license with a big fan base, they'd have a tried and tested game system with a fan base. The entire brand recognition and overall fame of each would stand it in really good stead.

With the D6 System available on the OpenD6 license, this could easily be done if someone got hold of the Battlestar Galactica license. The system was perfect for Star Wars as it encapsulated that sense of adventure and action, was easy to mod and house rule, and it just *worked*.

I'd play it.

Problem solved right there - 'Starbucks bullshit'. Change it from technobabble to technobabblestar.

All starships are capital ships and Ornithopters are speeders. It'd work.
jonmarkhicks.bsky.social
The Force powers could be easily modified for that.

Oooh, 2D20 Battlestar Galactica, using that same episodic/scene format.
jonmarkhicks.bsky.social
Definitely - there's not a lot the D6 System can't do when it comes to cinematic games.

I've got this and it worked really well. It's a huge shame it never saw the light of day.

I think the D6 System would work exceptionally well for a Battlestar Galactica TTRPG. Just reskinning the first edition Star Wars game would absolutely do it, the franchises are similar enough (well, according to the law suit from George Lucas they were) so the majority of the work is done for you.

I think it's genuinely good. They really put a lot of effort into it and they really did the story justice.

I've still not seen that, I need to locate a copy.

I bought this on DVD at the Memorabilia Fair many years ago but after a couple of plays the disc stopped working.

For a fan movie that was independently financed they did a fantastic job. I'd say this was my favourite Lovecraft movie.

The HPLHS Call of Cthulhu on Amazon Prime? Get in!

I wrote unofficial Highlander and Blade Runner RPGs using this system, they're available on this link, too. Absolutely bonkers.

Oh, I've already got them on Dropbox! Here's an insight into my original forays into TTRPG design.

One of my first attempts at designing a simple single D6-based TTRPG. I wrote this in 2008 and intended to create a whole line of games using the mechanic, called the SKETCH System.

I'll sort the others and make them all available via Dropbox.

Nice!

Predator Badlands.

I’m beyond excited to share the payoff poster for the movie. Designed and illustrated by me!

@dannytrs & @20thcenturystudios having me back to work on this poster was a dream come true.

I went full on days of high adventure with this poster!

Yes, it's focus is on combat and it's malleable enough to be adjusted to suit. They'd just need to sort out suit shield regeneration, maybe another level of hit points that soak damage and then regenerate after two rounds.

The Viper MkIII is also a great design, built to be brutal and hardy but it only had limited deployment during the First Cylon War. It certainly looks the part as a fighter/bomber and it shares the design of the MkII, but I prefer the smoother lines and livery of the MkII.

It's still a pretty ship.
