Consider a no fee credit card for spending above the cash you take IIRC Nationwide and Santander do this you will likely get a better rate on purchases and no fees pay it off when you get back
I expect the difference in rates will be in cents prob not going to make massive diff-look out for transaction fees-tesco don't charge their card holders IIRC
