Because of what happened to his sisters at the jail in Lawrence Kansas, "Bloody Bill" Anderson vowed never to spare a Federal. He had a silken cord in which he tied a knot for every Federal he killed. When Bill was killed himself, that cord had 54 knots tied in it. #history
