I had the pleasure of running into him at a college parents' orientation. He was very gracious, considering my wife made me run into the men's room after him to verify that it was really him. Since then, he's been one of my favorite actors.

Thanks for the info - I'll keep that in mind this season

What does 'leaving your leaves down until late March' do for the bees?

I'm a very small business who uses Canadian made metering devices. I just received an invoice from UPS for my first post-tariff purchase that I received last week. It's an extra $181 dollars that I have to try to pass on to my customer. Small potatoes, but it was a small order.

I'm streaming the video on C-Span2 and it keeps timing out, telling me that I've had the page open for a long time and confirming that I'm really still here. Kind of telling... :)

Since it's very clearly that the money withdrawn from our paychecks (with no ability to opt out) is ours, can we sue them for not honoring that contract? Could we file a class-action suit and request our money (plus some assumed level of interest) if they're not going to manage it properly?

Coming down from last week, maybe:

I keep mine on my 'important but obscure things to keep handy' windowsill 😀

Yeah, that would suck. We've never had that issue here that I'm aware of (knock wood). Our law requires them to be sent at least 18 days before each election. I know that we can request a provisional ballot, but then that gets messy. Every county also has 1 accessible voting location, as well.

You post such good, cleansing content that I wished that your posts were open to non-Bluesky members so that I could share them more-widely.

I live in Washington, a 100% vote-by-mail state. In addition to being able to mail in our ballots, we can also still drop them off in local collection boxes, most of them are drive up accessible, so we have options if the Mail Service makes us nervous.

I sure wish there was a way to file a class-action suit against them (civilly?) to recoup the costs to the taxpayers for the DOJ for arguing these cases...

@mcuban.bsky.social: doing the hard work and setting the example for all of us. Thank you sir - it's a hard thing that you're suggesting for some of us, but we should try. We can always block if the conversation degrades.

This guy ran for representative in one of the reddest districts in the state and lost twice to a democratic newbie. He's too radical and even my maga neighbors realized that.

I work for myself and insurance for myself and my wife is over $1,800/mo. If a non-profit plan were made available, I'd jump on it.
