…So seems unusual they’ve mentioned ‘civil offence’ rather than just ‘NFA’ for, perhaps, not driving far enough along the pavement? Looks like they made the extra step of assuming “on the pavement = a parking report” and therefore civil offence. But is it criminal in London theoretically?

Good question - if I’m reporting to the police it’s primarily for the driving on the pavement, though will mention obstruction of dropped kerbs, etc. I found a police update spreadsheet recently and saw some of my reports marked as ‘civil offence’ even though I reported ‘pavement driving’…

Does walking marky have a non twitter alternative account? Can’t be going back to that cess pit…

Lack of LA enforcement makes it an easy decision for drivers to block pavements/damage footways because it is very rare they would get a ticket (and then maybe risk ignoring it?) Delivery vans and lorries have fkd plenty pavements near me

Met police count anything that could be ‘pavement parking’ (even with several metres of driving along pavement) as ‘civil offence; no further action’ even though illegal in London in a way it’s not elsewhere. IME a video showing 10 metres+ of driving along a pavement is the minimum to get a response

Was that in the “How to kill as many people as possible to own the libs” chapter?

Are blind corners to hide fast moving drivers from vulnerable road users part of the US highway design guidelines? I’m pretty sure the Dutch guidelines have been translated into English…

Ooh - do they fine retrospectively? Need a video rather than just picture?

I live in Newham and have called the parking enforcement line plenty when drivers are blocking pavements and dropped kerbs, etc. but always depends where they are at that moment

As ever, if you genuinely want to know what it feels like to choose to kill someone but don’t want to face any consequences, do it with your car

Very explicitly explained away at the time as ‘freelance, therefore fine’. How much more clearly can the BBC make their support of hatred right now?

Gary Lineker should offer you a new show on his podcast platform. Perhaps a popular science show?

How long ago was it the BBC was responding to me and many others complaining about Rylan’s racism and lies about asylum seekers with “he is freelance and therefore he is free to say these things”?

Overt racism gets you rewarded with ever more work at the BBC, whereas empathy is ‘problematic’?!
