Went the #mglit adventure route for this latest #bookcover.

I’m always nervous about a software update but so far I’m liking the new #procreate brushes. Used “underwood” charcoal for a lot of the texture in this.

I’m working on a picture book idea, “Lost Bread.” A girl dreams of the breakfast she’ll have in the morning. Of course, as dreams go, the bread for her French toast keeps evading her. We hope she finds it before it turns moldy! French toast is colored pencil and paint on paper, rest is digital.
An illustration done mainly in dark blue and periwinkle. A young girl lays in bed, while her imagination unfolds to her left. Motherhood: Reaching for cheese stick from fridge. Brief moment of panic. Does she want it unwrapped?…Or will she be mad I opened it for her?…I could get it started so she can feel like she opened it herself…

Sigh of relief. This cheese stick is for me. I rip it open with reckless abandon.
