My great-grandfather (born 1863) was a baker in country Victoria. My mum kept his fruit cake recipe - which required 18 eggs. She made it every xmas - it made five 10inch x 10 inch cakes.

Uncanny. I've just messaged someone and mentioned mine and Tony's big thing. Cakes in a box tied up with string always taste better than those that aren't. He once bought a Victoria sponge, box with string just to piss me off. He had to cut it up using a fucking Stanley knife in his van 😂 😂
