I think back to the time when I would tell people I liked when my guitars “fought back a little” when in reality I just hadn’t learned how to set them up yet

I thought single coils were the be-all-end-all until I finally played a really nice set of humbuckers.
The right ones can definitely get bright and spanky enough.
