There's one thing I think you missed: some people actively don't want to learn. They will absolutely refuse to read anything, even a summarized version of a given topic, if it doesn't back their world view up. So having a curated feed of "yes, you're right" is better than "you're wrong about this."

Pete's a great speaker, for sure. One worry I have is that him being gay might turn off too many moderates. I couldn't care less, but the last election came down to not paying for tarrifs vs anti-LGBTQ+ rights, and the people chose anti-LGBTQ+.
