In Venezuela, everything remains the same: the Chavistas continue to rule under Vice President Delcy Rodríguez. However, they must allow US oil companies access to oil. The elected president, political prisoners, and Venezuelans are left behind.

For the Venezuelans that would mean business as usual: Live with the dictatorship or leave. For Rubio it means that his dream, to overthrow the Venezuelan chavistas and then see the Cuban tyrants collapsing that depend on them, may not come true.

Rubio did not look being very happy at Trump’s Venezuela TV show. Could be that Trump wants no more than locking up Maduro and leaving the present Venezuelan government in place under VP Delcy Rodríguez, as long as the USA companies get access to the oil.
