The secondary illo for the HBR Performance Improvement Plans Case Study. I've never worked in a corporate environment, but those PIPs sound ✨uncomfortable✨.

Happy #PortfolioDay again! I'm also Jori, the fantasy/scifi/cyberpunk illustrator. Hoping to include more of the "fantasy" genre in this portfolio, but who has the time! Right now I do lots of work for Catalyst Game labs and the Shadowrun IP.

New for Harvard Business Review "Case Study: Should a CHRO Abandon Performance Improvement Plans?"

It's about these PIPs, which if I'm understanding, are documents put together for struggling employees with goals/criteria/feedback which can be used to help or to provide paper trail for termination.

This one's from last year, but I felt like a repost.

More hands for EQ Bank!

Original -> then two versions as used in different contexts on the site (or in the app, I don't know for sure).

Thanks for the tag @aromiekim.bsky.social and thanks for hosting, @nodens.bsky.social !

Hey everybody! Here's my stuff! Let's do some older gouache studies this time, because I miss those. The two medieval people are from photos (not mine), Whirlwind and the Scottie are original works.

Taking a trip to the past building some MtG decks with friends from a random selection only Revised cards. My first cards were from Seventh Edition, so a long way after this, but I'm loving these exploring early cards. #magic #mtg

Thanks for the art share! I'm Jori, I'm a Canadian illustrator, and I do a lot of editorial/corporate work, cyberpunk stuff for the Shadowrun TTRPG, and one day I'd love to do more medieval fantasy.

Little website update! Freshening up that news roll with some not-quite-so-old-art.

Friends helping each other up the graph for EQ Bank.

This was one of the last ones we did before we settled into the white/yellow/off-white scheme seen in the edited version.

First is the original, then the edit, then the piece in-context.

Ladder climbing folks for EQ Bank.

It was fun drawing different outfits for the figures in this series. My comfort zone for drawing clothes is a tucked-in button-up, black slacks, and Oxfords, so anything else is an adventure.

First is original, second is in context.

I think this is the most enduring piece I ever made. Made back in 2nd or 3rd year of college, and it circulated around a bit and got memed a few times.

Originally for an assignment where we were tasked to eavesdrop on strangers' conversations, then illustrate a snippet of dialogue out of context.

I seriously considered getting vintage, but no, I got this one. It's great, and my daughters do actually play with it.
