Rare Pokémon sighting! My son's been wanting to see one of these in the flesh so we drove all the way out to the edge of the Chihuahuan desert and actually found one! Grabbed a couple pics and sent it on its way. So good to see them still thriving out here. #texashornedlizard #herping

The spring #herping season is well underway! My son flipped 2 prairie kingsnakes (lampropeltis calligaster) on Sunday. This one was particularly nice looking and well behaved

I am still telling jokes on the internet like a doofus. I want to explain why I am telling jokes like a doofus when people, especially marginalized people but also everyone else, are being slowly pulled apart by the most ghastly people imaginable.

Rad cypress tree I saw at Lake Austin. I think there's some debate on whether we have Bald or Montezuma cypress here, but I'll leave that distinction to the botanists.
