Not having an implicit conversion is probably a good thing from a business logic perspective - it forces you to be intentional. It probably reduces business login bugs.

But yeah, it’s pretty annoying at serialization boundaries (JSON, HTTP bindings, ADO.NET) where they only work with DateTime.

Except for the “battle scenes”. No joke: the writing, narration, visuals, and soundtrack are captivating.

And maybe it’s because I knew embarrassingly little about Revolutionary War engagements. But I was glued to the TV for those parts.

He was good in Mr. Robot - but perhaps only works because the character itself is a little bit… off. But otherwise I agree, unfortunately.

I’m not against AI assisted coding. I’ve incorporated it into my own workflows. But I’m nervous about the mountains of new tech debt we’re potentially building. But I guess that means I’ll always have a job!

When you say "on Windows", you mean on a real machine running Windows and not a VM like Parallels?

But I too have been using Rider on a Mac for almost a year now, and it's amazing. Still a few things I miss from Visual Studio, but more than made up by what Rider brings to the table.

Concur about the organizational will power. But I have done it once, at scale. Specifically, migrating a reasonably complex system from .NET Framework to ASP.NET Core. We used the strategy to move our controllers and api endpoint. It took a long time to get the buy in that we needed.
