Writer working on Author
This new year I’ve been unsubscribing to all the author newsletters I’ve accumulated. Too much distraction from the real work, you know?

How to rewrite from page one? No idea. Ok, let’s print out baby scene cards for what I’ve got now and tape to the wall. *stares at wall, scratching head*

Wondering if the re-write in my head is worthy of its own Midori notebook or not.

You ever feel more confused after a four day conference where you hoped to find an answer to a basic question?

Used as many cables and doohickeys as possible to turn my writing desk into a zoom content area for the next few days. The DIY fill light on the guitar stand might have been over the top?

First ever agent pitch sessions next week. I think I need more ideas?

Just realized the problem with this WIP scene is that I need to write the opposite

As a #writer just starting to look into my publication paths, most disappointing to find is a whole industry built to sell wannabes services. Not a few things, but a LOT. Any many are quite expensive, given the #author ROI. I don’t pretend I’m revising a bestseller, but I’d like to break even!

IDK if author logos should be a thing or not. Anyways, here’s my Celtic Chameleon

#MWW25 was my first ever writer conference and thinking my main takeaway was that everyone I met was a writer, because that is what we do, what we are supposed to do. The difference was only where we are on our author journey.

Thinking how my #writing excuses have evolved-
At 50 I wondered if I waited too long to start an author career.
At 40 I felt like a phony.
At 30 I was sure that I needed some schooling.
At 20 I had nothing worth writing about.
At 10 I liked to write short stories and my friends liked to read them.
