Small fixes can make a huge impact.

It's about making legal information accessible, actionable, and genuinely useful.

Let's make contracts better. Break that wall.

Are there any tips or tricks you'd recommend?

The good news is you don't need a team of designers or expensive tools to fix it.

A lot of the time, all you need is a different mindset and some Word-friendly formatting.

It's not just a vibe issue either.

That wall of text causes real problems: brand damage, complexity, risk, and a whole lot of wasted time and money.

Legal documents should be tools that accelerate business, not slow it down.

That explains why my post only shows about 7% of my overall excitement about the standard 😅

As an advocate of pain language and legal design, this is an amazing step forward!

I really hope this is a catalyst for (much needed) change 🤞🏻

The goal isn't a new standard.

It's when lawyers use these principles universally to create legal outputs their users actually understand.

Is this the beginning of the end for legalese, or just the first step in a much longer journey? What do you think?

This standard isn't a magic bullet. Lawyers won't abandon legalese overnight.

The real win comes from a mindset shift. This means:

💡 Unlearning perfectionism.
👂🏻 Listening to users.
🤝 Bridging legal, business, and design.

The standard's intro even takes a jab at our profession:

"The profession lacks consistent standards to also communicate effectively with clients, the public and other professionals."

Ouch.

But it's true. The old way isn't good enough anymore.
