It's hard fitting in time for art between working full time and other responsibilities in life, but flicking between where I was with a project to where I am now with it helps show me I've come further than I realised!

Doing some gradient map tests and it's helped highlight for me where I need to push the greyscale painting further, trying not to rush to the finish line with this one

Still working on the hair but finally stumbling upon something I’m feeling ok with and I just love this part of texturing where the character slowly comes to life layer by endless layer (yes I use too many layers)

Metroid Zero Mission, really enjoyed this one, it’s very breezy and has a SUPER cathartic ending done through gameplay alone, Fusion is next 👏

Yakuza 3, I can see why this is considered the lowest point of the series by fans, the gameplay is absolutely miserable, the story is messy, but it still has a lot of charm to save it

Pikmin 1, my love for this series started with 3 so I’ve been well overdue playing the start of the series, it’s charmingly rough around the edges, with quibbles later addressed largely in 3 and 4, but despite all that I still had a great time, these games make me so happy and relaxed

Metaphor Refantazio, I actually liked this a lot less than most folks I think? There’s a lot of great work here but it doesn’t quite come together in a way for me that resonates the same way Persona does in both gameplay and story, yet I would still love to see a follow up to see this built on 7/10

Blade PS1, this was brute forced through with my best friend and I mused multiple times we must be the only people on earth currently playing this game, I can’t imagine anyone having played this as a child deciding to come back to it 2/10

Adding a last minute addition to the model, she's holding a jacket in the concept but I've had to mostly do my own thing in terms of the design as so little of it is visible, nearly time for retopo!

Figured I should share some of my older pieces on here, this was my first finished full kitted out character model with the help of a mentorship and I actually still feel really good about it visually, the optimization side of things I would definitely handle differently today

Life continues to eat up any spare time I get, managed to get a few more tweaks in though and enjoyed doing some quick painting, I want to remake some of the hair strands then move on from sculpting 🥲

Woke up to my cat limping around the house this morning, poor boy had a small cut on his paw bean but luckily didn’t need any stitches and is sleeping off the chaos of the day, hate seeing him out of sorts
