Sometimes I do things, usually I’m in trouble.

Honestly, I’m kind of liking the smaller size for a quick sketch, feels less intimidating for a beginner. Too cold for me to venture out today, but good excuse to practice with some vacation photos of somewhere warm. #watercolor #artyear

It finally came! Ordered this pocket #watercolor palette from bluestarcraftmx on Etsy awhile back to have an all in one tiny kit for #urbansketching and it got here earlier this week. Filled it with some of my favorite colors and today seems perfect for a test run. After it stops snowing.

I love the feeling of solitude in more remote places. Even with others around you can forget about everything and just enjoy the peace of nature and forgetting the rest of the world exists temporarily.

Whales always help. Here’s “Toby”, since my suggestion of “Sir Twerks-a-lot” wasn’t taken.

Zodiac rides will always be one of my favorite parts of #Antarctica trips. Sure, I’ll say that about every part of them, but it still counts, right?

Sadly no :( downside of packing light is just couldn’t fit it in, would have had to check a bag instead of going carry on. It’s on my coffee table though!

First evening we saw land in #Antarctica everyone was up on the top deck watching the sun slowly set, or at least come close! Most of the trip was cloudy, but this was a remarkable way to spend the first evening after the Drake Passage. #photography #landscape

Spending a lot of today deleting news apps and social media to protect my mental health. Going to keep Bluesky and focus more on creating than consumption this year.

Back in Ushuaia after my second trip to Antarctica. Much to reflect on, this was a completely different experience from the first time and my desire to return has not dwindled in the slightest. #photography #antarctica

Got the first page of a sketchbook filled out with my view during breakfast, going to try keeping an ongoing journal and sketchbook with travel throughout the year. #watercolor #urbansketching but not really urban!

Made it to Ushuaia with a few days to explore this time!

Two of the quick sketches I did on the last vacation while slowly learning how to use watercolors. Two weeks left to practice before heading back to Buenos Aires and Antarctica to add to this sketchbook

Bald eagle in Alaska, the sun peaked out for just a few seconds to give some fun lighting for one frame.

One of my favorite icebergs with the different textures all around it, the top looking almost like a handle and the bottom like it was carved out of marble. A few moments later the side of it calved off and completely changed the look. #photography #antarctica

Everything’s a little draining today, so going to look back through some photos of Alaska and debate on what to do next.

Penguins made me happy, they’re like over sugared, trouble making toddlers I’m not responsible for.

Oddly beautiful flight from Cleveland to Seattle the other day. Could use more of this.

All views are not worthy of respect, just because you can say or do something doesn’t absolve you of the consequences of it. Not pushing back and calling it out normalizes it.

Also, penguins.

Will have to figure this place out, but with a month left before I head back, enjoy this picture of Antarctica

Accidentally did a whole series of “lonely penguins” while in Antarctica. Looking forward to culling through everything now that I’m back
