For years now I’ve been calling them Tory Metal, which enrages fans but I’ve never heard a counter argument.

The ‘pivot-to-video’ horseshit that ended up causing a whole bunch of online ecosystems to tank (Cracked being the one that comes to mind) should be a black mark against meta forever.

Well phrased. That console & era was a time for (maybe) well-intentioned but ultimately doomed middle shelf games. I still recall the shockingly blithe racism of Kung Fu Chaos.

Also IIRC something like a year later, a mechsploitation anthology came out featuring a couple of the writers who had been some of Fall’s most vocal detractors. That appalled me.

It’s oddly comforting to know that I’m not alone in this. I’ve worked hard to love who I am, flaws and all, but every now and then I do wonder.

Saying ‘but money’ makes it politically worse, doesn’t it? If you can put a price tag on your principles then you don’t hold them. Wasn’t this the takeaway from those comics who performed in Riyadh?
