I was born an underdog. 21 surgeries by the age of 12 for spina bifida. A kid wearing goodwill hand-me-downs. I knew nothing would come easy, but I never doubted my right to the American dream.

Now, I'm running for the U.S. Senate to make sure all Iowans have a shot at theirs.

Ashley Hinson voted to gut Medicaid and SNAP for thousands of Iowans. She voted to make health care more expensive for Iowans.

She claims to be different from Joni Ernst, but it’s a lie.

Hinson is the reason you may lose your health insurance or pay more.

Nearly 120,000 Iowans could face skyrocketing health care costs after Ashley Hinson voted today against extending subsidies to make care more affordable.

Her votes are leaving families with higher premiums and higher costs across the board.

Next year, we can vote to reverse this damage.

I’ve seen parents beg for care their kids desperately needed—only to be denied. I’ve fought to get families the medical equipment insurance refused. Health care is a right, and I’ll keep pushing for a system that puts patients before profits.

If I were in the Senate, I would not have voted to confirm RFK Jr. in the first place. But based on this alone, when I get to the Senate, I will demand his immediate resignation.

My father, a Vietnam veteran, still lives with the scars of war. His exposure to Agent Orange is why I was born with spina bifida. To glorify or sanitize history dishonors veterans. Our kids deserve the truth—taught fully, without political interference.

As the first permanently disabled member of the Iowa House, seeing a young girl use the new ramp in the chamber reminded me: progress can be slow, but it’s real. Every small action toward inclusion matters.

A disability is significant—but I don’t miss what I never had.

Growing up poor and disabled was incredibly hard: 21 surgeries by age five, long hospital stays, full body casts. School was isolating, with few friends and heavy bullying. I will always fight for you.
