He might be able to plea to GBH. He's 'from a good background' with no previous convictions. Might he get it down to a couple of years, out in one?

Brian otoh has priors.

He took a weapon, followed him, watched him talk to Alice, followed him again, sneaked up on him and hit him from behind (so in no way a brawl) and then wanted to leave him to possibly die.

Has shown no remorse.

It's worth at least the same time that George served.

Ruari was so nasty and self righteous to George at the 'apology'. He clearly still believes he is better than George despite evidence to the contrary.
February 14, 2026 at 11:18 AM
Agree. Brian is just George with a posh accent. He is manipulative, violent, vengeful, doesn't like accountability.

And tonight? ....5 minutes of Pip and Rosee making a school project and 7 minutes of Bert Fry's poetry by the stained glass in the re-wilding.

Nothing on door knocking or bottling

She didn't say Will, she said Well? What do you want? As if someone had been banging orhad phoned ahead and was unwelcome.

If that was George who said can I come in then the actor slipped out of character. Wrong timbre /accent

Well? What do you want?
February 12, 2026 at 9:06 AM
Lillian surely doesn't always answer her door like that though?
I don't think it was George but it was someone she was not expecting.
February 12, 2026 at 9:03 AM
I think it was maybe Chris
February 12, 2026 at 12:46 AM
Correct. Jazzer goes to his door (but he was expecting someone).
George, who had recently seen Fallon go to her cottage, hammers on a door.
Lillian answers another door and someone (chris?) Says can I come in. Maybe Lils is his hot dating app date.

Map time. Who else is George near?

As it should

2) Pip has to run Brookfield farm solo. Roseee shows no interest in farming. Pip is aided by a rotating cast of Ed, Rex, Johnny, Poppy, & is finally forced to employ George.
Runs off with Natasha in the end.

3) Josh via his business empire morphs into Matt Crawford crossed with Tom the sausage man
February 11, 2026 at 2:19 PM
Oh Brookfield has some kind of rotating pastures though where they are always measuring the grass. That's what I was confusing it with.
February 11, 2026 at 2:10 PM
Or will there be a future Sam the cowman to come between her and Stella? (and Cleo who buy this point is managing the herbal lays single-pawed)
February 11, 2026 at 2:06 PM
She also won't have Josh & Ben.
No sign of Wosee turning out to be a farming genius.

I imagine Rex would help put for free just to be around Pip and fulfil his need to be unrequited but noble.

Perhaps she will be forced to employ George.
February 11, 2026 at 2:05 PM
So I think they realised they had better makes themselves ready. Unless they were ready to pay tax to fund Ben's extravagant career choices and hopes for society.
February 11, 2026 at 2:00 PM
I think it's them that is not ready.

She works full time on the farm. She has no side quests. She already makes business decisions (in an annoying manner but nonetheless).

She obviously is not ready to take over the entire farm but I thought Deevid was being a bit unfair to Pip's abilities.
February 11, 2026 at 1:58 PM
It's also I think that the farm is land - with a value plus a business requiring labour.

the Brookfield Archers run the business, supply the labour, take the wages.

They also live on the land.

The others cannot force a sale of the land but stand to profit were land sold.
Pip is a business partner
February 11, 2026 at 1:54 PM
Other than the marriage/divorce issue - this would be true if they survived 7 years - but they can't give it away and live there and take a wage without some restructuring.

Pip cannot run the farm solo.

I wonder if Josh & Ben will be less inclined to pitch in and muck out from now on.
February 11, 2026 at 1:49 PM
They said in the meeting we are going to add her to the partnership immediately.

They will if she gets married, have to cover that as otherwise 1/6th of the farm would be at risk on divorce.
February 11, 2026 at 1:46 PM
I think there are rules if you retire and pass on a farm before you die, about where you can live in order to demonstrate you genuinely had handed it over.

Sharing the business is probably the most efficient way to do it.
February 11, 2026 at 8:49 AM
Just read up on partnerships. If it is not documented, it dissolves on the death of any partner.
But you can document including splitting ownership which can be useful for IHT.
February 10, 2026 at 10:18 PM
Its a partnership, as is home farm.

Surely if Pip already effectively owns 1/3rd she can only inherit 2/3rds which is 5m.

But is ingeritance not on the entire estate. So Josh & Ben's inheritance is already part of the estate?
